Kitchen Capers is a new series of cooking adventures for kids 9 to 14 (no experience needed). This hands-on program will not only raise important funds for the Arts Council, but will also help kids develop a passion for preparing local, healthy, sustainable and, most importantly, delicious food!

The series kicks off in early May with a Mother’s Day Brunch menu featuring Mini Frittata, Creamsicle Smoothie and Seasonal Berries with Creme Anglaise.

Future Kitchen Capers classes in the inaugural 2014 season include:

Father’s Day Surprise – May 30

Summertime Family Picnic – July 18

Back-to-School Lunchbox – August 22

Harvest-time Feast – September 26

Ghoulish Delights – October 17

Christmas Cookie Extravaganza – December 12

Each class will focus on a holiday or theme. Young chefs will go home with recipes, a shopping list and all the skills to prepare our creations on their own. In addition to technique,  kitchen safety, prep and cleanup will be emphasized.

Instructors are Susan & Chandler Holland–a mother-daughter duo that love food…the science, nutrition, ethics & presentatio … but most of all, preparing and eating delicious meals together.
